Registration is now open for an Inspiring Weekend with the Saint John’s Bible at Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, Tennessee. The link below takes you directly to the information and registration page on Carson-Newman’s web site. It is recommended that you use a desktop or laptop rather than your phone to register.

The registration site consists of three pages. Be sure that you complete all three and that you submit your information.

Carson-Newman has allocated 60 slots for calligraphers, with the remaining slots made available to their staff, students, and other interested parties.

If you wish to attend, I urge you to register sooner rather than later as we all expect all 100 seats to fill.

The weekend will begin with a celebratory worship service and opening of The Lynn and Lyndsey Denton Gallery for The Saint John’s Bible (Heritage Edition) on Thursday evening. Friday will offer opportunities for leisurely viewing of The Saint John’s Bible, shopping at the Paper and Ink Arts shop, and other Saint John’s Bible-related sessions. You may choose to attend any or all of the activities; however you must be pre-registered to attend the Saturday event.

Saturday will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend the entire day with Sir Donald Jackson, Calligrapher and Illuminator to Queen Elizabeth II and the British Government. The day-long series of experiences will include demonstrations by Mr. Jackson, discussion about the creation of the Saint John’s Bible, group interactions, answers to your questions (that you may submit via the registration pages), a segment on analyzing an alphabet, and hands-on experiences with broad-edge markers on paper, and gouache with quills on vellum.

Your registration fee includes the day-long activities, a goody bag of donated items, special mementos of this historic day, morning and afternoon snacks during breaks, a buffet luncheon, and the following supplies:

  • Handouts
  • Vellum
  • Quills
  • Gouache
  • Broad-edge calligraphy markers

A very short supplies list of items that you need to supply will be emailed to you closer to date of the event.

If you have questions, feel free to contact Ann Cobb.
